This island dressing is a sterile, waterproof, viral and bacterial barrier which consists of a non-adherent absorbent pad bonded to a larger thin film transparent dressing (In vitro testing shows that the transparent film provides a viral barrier from virus 27 nm in diameter or larger while the dressing remains intact without leakage).
- Convenient, all-in-one sterile dressing reduces application time
- Waterproof barrier which allows patients to bathe or shower without removing dressing
- Unique, non-adherent pad won`t stick to the wound, allowing normal wound healing processes to occur with less pain and trauma

3M™ Cavilon™ No Sting Barrier Film is the original alcohol-free liquid barrier film that dries quickly to form a breathable, transparent coating on the skin.
It is designed to protect intact, damaged or 'at-risk' skin from urine, faeces, other body fluids, medical adhesive related skin injury (MARSI) and friction. It comes in a variety of easy to apply formats: 1ml foam applicator, 3ml foam applicator, 28ml pump spray and a stoma wipe. It lasts for up to 72 hours, and will not sting when applied to broken skin.
