- Not indicated for adult cardiovascular tissue, microsurgery, and neural tissue
- These sutures are particularly useful where the combination of an absorbable suture and extended wound support (up to 6 weeks) is desirable
- Synthetic, sterile surgical suture composed of copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide designed to model the performance of collagen sutures
- Indicated for use in superficial, soft tissue approximation of skin and mucosa where short-term wound support is required
- Not intended for ligation, ophthalmic, cardiovascular or neurological procedures
- For general soft-tissue approximation or ligation, including use in ophthalmic procedures
- Made of mostly collagen from either the bovine serosal or ovine submucosal layer of intestines
- Chromic gut is processed to slow absorption
